General Barcode Scanner Troubleshooting

Scanner will not scan barcode?

• Disconnect your barcode scanner from USB
• Restart your computer
• Connect barcode scanner to USB
• Try again

Scanner will not scan QR from mobile screen?

• Confirm your barcode scanner is 2D capable and setup to scan QR codes by checking the user guide.
• Increase the brightness of the mobile device
• Try SLOWLY moving the scanner closer and away from the mobile device to get a good read.

Scanner will not scan certain barcode types?

• Do you know what type of barcode you are reading? Is it a special barcode like PDF417, Datamatrix, etc
• Have you confirmed your scanner support that type of barcode symbology?
• If you have confirmed, have you programmed or enabled the symbology on your barcode scanner?
• If in doubt, speak to your IT person or contact us for more information.

Cordless scanner will not scan barcode?

• Restart your computer
• Ensure the barcode scanner is paired via Bluetooth to the cradle by checking user guide.
• Is the barcode scanner battery charged?
• If using a Bluetooth scanner directly with an iPad or mobile device, restart the mobile device and re-connect scanner via bluetooth.
